Why does the letter "I" appear bolder than all other letters in my proof?

This is nothing to be worried about! If you zoom in a bit, you will see the problem all but disappear! It is a function of how Adobe Acrobat is rendering the text when it is zoomed out or set to fit onto the screen size. If you zoom in and the problem goes away, it will not print that way.
