Why can't my QuickTime/mp4/wmv file work for duplication or replication?

QT (QuickTime), MP4, and WMV files are computer files. If you want playback for your file on computers only, we can use them to create ROM Discs. However, these formats do not meet the requirement for the DVD or Blu-ray specification. QT/mp4/wmv files would need to be converted or “authored” to meet the DVD/Blu-ray specification. The DVD specification requires DVDs to be in the “Video_TS” format for universal playback (BDMV for Blu-ray) — see What file types can we accept for DVD replication? for acceptable master requirements.
